The Expanse is a beloved sci-fi television show based on an ongoing series of novels by James S.A. Corey.
Following a motley crew of progonists, the show takes place in a future in which the Solar System has been colonized by humans. It centers around United Nations Security Council member Chrisjen Avasarala (Shohreh Aghdaashloo), detective Josephus Miller (Thomas Jane), and ship officer James Holden (Steven Strait) and his Rocinante crew, who find themselves at the heart of a conspiracy which threatens the balance of the entire system.
First airing on Syfy in 2015, the series faced a cancellation after its third season. Luckily, Amazon Prime Video was there to promptly bring it back to life. After being renewed for a fourth and fifth season on the streaming service, it was announced in late 2020 that the current sixth season will be its last.
