Carolyn Cox, Managing Editor
Carolyn Cox has been writing professionally about books for over half a decade. Previously she was an editor at geek feminist website The Mary Sue, where she covered movies,TV, fandom, books, and all corners of the pop culture ‘verse. She now writes about sci-fi and fantasy for The Portalist, and praises her favorite ‘ships on romance site A Love So True. Carolyn’s byline has also appeared on Geekosystem and Revelist. Whether she’s writing about groundbreaking science fiction authors or captivating historical romance, Carolyn is passionate about the power of genre fiction. When not writing she performs in nerdy media in New York City. You can hear Carolyn play the anarchic smuggler Adriest Bingo on the Star Wars RPG podcast Roll One, or look out for the next performance of her New York-based Stephen King improv show Maxifun Overdrive.
Olivia Mason, Associate Manager, Audience Development
After graduating from the Columbia Publishing Course in 2016, Olivia found her happy place—a job that allowed her to talk about books all day long. When she isn’t writing or editing for websites, she is defending Cersei Lannister’s right to the Iron Throne, gabbing on (and on) about Outlander, or trying to solve the JonBenet Ramsey case.
Matthew Thompson, Executive Editor
Matthew graduated from New York University with an MFA in Fiction. His stories, book reviews, and interviews appear in a variety of literary journals. As an avid traveler, Matthew has lived in Berlin, Seattle, and a handful of hamlets in the south of France. He can usually be found rummaging around old bookshops, uncovering strange titles.
Jennifer Jackson, Founder
A lover of all things digital, Jennifer has been editing and writing for websites and reading ebooks for the better part of a decade. She checks Goodreads every morning for new book recommendations, and she’s recently discovered a love of British murder mystery TV series which she plans to investigate further.
