It's been nearly two years since viewers devoured the first season of Shadow and Bone. The Netflix show, which combines two series written by Leigh Bardugo (the Shadow and Bone trilogy and the Six of Crows duology), racked up 721 million minutes of streaming in the first month after its April 2021 release. Given the binge-able nature of Netflix's releases, where every episode is immediately available, loyal readers and viewers alike have been eagerly awaiting season two since the day season one dropped.
Finally, the second season of Shadow and Bone appears within reach. Not only did Netflix announce the release of season two for March 16th (just one month away!), but the company also gave a sneak peak at season two with a new jaw-dropping trailer. It follows the return of General Aleksander Kirigan (played by Ben Barnes) and Alina Starkov's (Jessie Mei Li) quest for elemental amplifiers for her light magic.
Kaz Brekker and his crew are up to their old tricks, and what else needs to be said? It feels good to return to the Grishaverse. Watch the full trailer below, and buckle up for March 16th.
