When Terry Goodkind passed away in 2020, he left behind legions of fans and one of the biggest fantasy epics of the 20th century. The books are set in a world divided into The New World and The Old World. In the former, which is divided magically into three lands, faces threat of invasion from the D'Haran Empire and its leader, Darken Rahl. Our protagonists, led by Richard Cypher, must defeat their oppressors and stop the spread of evil from engulfing all that they know.
That's just the starting point, however. The Sword of Truth is a sprawling saga with a dense mythology and thorough set of rules that kept readers hooked for decades. The world also expands beyond the main series, into prequels and spinoffs, but we'll focus on the core narrative for this list, to give you a starting point!
