Just to get it out of the way from the top—all tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs) are for women and girls. Our taste can be varied and wide, and no one genre is suitable for the entirety of a gender.
But if you're a veteran role player, you know all too well that not every table is a good one. As a D&D addict myself, I've been in my fair share of rigid, offensive, and downright hostile gaming groups.
Sometimes, people want to tell stories that are uncomfortable for women. Sometimes, fellow players think your ideas are dumb just because you're a girl. Sometimes, you just want to play a game with a little pizazz—flashy outfits, flirting with friends, dramatic political intrigue—without having a bunch of losers roll their eyes at you.
If you already have a mixed table where you're comfortable to express yourself and navigate the kinds of stories you want to be in, a million congratulations to you! But if you're interested in building a tabletop group for women or telling women-focused stories, then we've got some wonderful places for you to start.
From feminist romps to swoony romance to precious depictions, here are eight TTRPGs for the girls.

Night Witches
Despite what the name might imply, there's no magic involved in this TTRPG. In fact, it's rooted in real history!
During World War II, a group of 200 Soviet women and girls made up their own night bomber regiment, flying outdated biplanes through the frontlines of the war. For 1,100 consecutive nights, they barraged the German forces, resorting to dropping railroad ties when they ran out of bombs.
In this game, players take on the roles of the incredible women in the 588th Night Bomber Regiment, showing up for your country in its darkest hour. In historical feats of both bravery and feminism, you will take on Fascists, rise above discrimination and sabotage, and build unbreakable bonds of loyalty.
Suitable for three to five players, this TTRPG sees you take turns in the role of game master, crafting a riveting balance of high-stakes missions and gripping interpersonal conflict.

Good Society
If you've ever wanted to step into the romantic and scandalous regency tales crafted by Jane Austen, here's your chance.
On the surface, this TTRPG is about the excitement of elegant balls, the anxieties of maintaining estates, and the thrill of finding a suitable spouse. But beneath the obvious lies simmering ambition, burdensome obligation, and the ache of yearning.
This game asks you to pick a defining era-appropriate trait, and then has you flesh out your familial connections, closest relationship, and your hidden desire. Through it all, you have the power to generate rumors, build favor, stage accidents, and even more.
This game is suitable for two to five players and is best played with three to eight sessions.

Glitter Hearts
This TTRPG puts players in the roles of super heroes who have to find balance in they everyday lives and the needs of the world that relies on them to save it. Players can customize their own unique hero from over 150 moves, build their own team, and even create a mascot.
You start by creating your real identity, and then move on to selecting your magical archetype (warrior, witch, idol, defender, or tactician) and mystical connection. From their, your actions shape the story!
This game requires three to six players. While it draws inspiration from the beloved Magical Girl genre, your game can be set in any time or place!

Bluebeard's Bride
In the dark folktale, Bluebeard, an unattractive yet powerful blue-bearded man takes a young bride. He gives her free reign of his expansive mansion—all except one forbidden room. But the bride can't help her curiosity and sneaks her way into the room. Here she finds a horrific collection of all of her husband's previously murdered brides…
In this feminine horror TTRPG, players can craft their own beautiful and tragic version of this haunting fairy tale. Nightmarish memories await in each room, waiting to be discovered alongside the truth.
But are you a faithful bride? Or a disloyal one?
This game is for three to five players and is meant for one-shot play with a session of two to four hours.

Thirsty Sword Lesbians
Are you desperate for a game that celebrates not only love but the existence of queer people, too? Then you've found your next TTRPG.
Whether your players battle an encroaching force from the north or sail through the stars protecting diplomats, you will find gripping conflicts that may end in even more gripping connections.
Do you want to end a clashing duel with a toe-curling kiss? Will a witch amass power by helping others achieve love? Or is your campaign centered on matchmakers piloting their sentient gay spaceship from galaxy to galaxy?
There's no limit to the angsty and romantic stories you can tell with this game.

Fledge Witch
This Japanese slice-of-life TTRPG adds a pinch of wholesome to the fantasy genre. A perfect match for players who want to step into a cozy story!
Players live in the fantastical realm of Elemeria, serving as apprentices under talented witches. They work cooperatively to learn the secrets of magic, face challenges, and earn their mentors' praise.
This game is for one Game Master that plays as the wise Witch and one to four other players serving as her apprentices.

Wanderhome
This TTRPG drops players into a pastoral fantasy where they can take on the roles of traveling animal-folk. Through grassy fields, moss-covered shrines, chubby bumblebee herds, sharply dressed opossums and salamanders, and beautiful starry skies and sunsets, you will navigate the vivid world and the changing of the seasons.
This game focuses on ordinary people, be it a leporine mail carrier who uses moths to deliver packages or a lizard with a heart of gold and an enigmatic past. Your character is built off of one of fifteen possible playbooks, from which you pick personality, animal-form, look, and passions.
Wanderhome doesn't employ dice but rather gives you the chance to inconvenience yourself or step outside your comfort zone in order to earn tokens, which you can then use to take on problems and help shape the world into a kinder place
While you can play with a Guide to facilitate, this is a game that requires no GM, as it progresses with collaborative conversation.

Monsterhearts 2
Most teenagers have stopped being afraid of the dark. Instead, their thoughts are consumed with obsessive crushes, rambling diary entries, and sensual curiosity. They fear no monsters in the shadows, because they believe there's nothing there.
But there are monsters in the shadows—and players step into the lives of them. While wickedness and hunger simmer inside you, you're also plagued by the difficulties of high school and the complicated ways your body is changing. Teen drama is still a drag, even if you have powers.
Pulling inspiration from Twilight, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Ginger Snaps, The Vampire Diaries, and The Craft, this TTRPG allows you to create stories of sexy monsters, teen angst, personal horror, and complex love triangles.
