Cleverly announced today on May the 4th—otherwise known as Star Wars Day—a brand new feature film in the popular Star Wars science fiction franchise is being developed for theatrical release.

Representatives from Lucasfilm came forward with the announcement that several heavy-hitters would be involved with the project behind the scenes.

Taika Waititi—who recently won an Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for Jojo Rabbit, and is otherwise well-known for his direction of Thor: Ragnarok and the first season finale of The Mandalorian—is slated to direct and co-write the film.

Writing at his side will be Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who won a BAFTA award for Outstanding British Film of the Year with 1917.
